Hello Amazon. This one is for you.
We all have our specific tastes and preferences. We would rather use certain products than others. It might be a consequence of carefully analyzed data about the quality of something, or the facts and figures related to it. It could also just be the fact that we are simply more familiar with certain products than the others, and that automatically makes us more comfortable with them.
I think that is partly the case with me and Amazon. I have become rather dependent on Amazon for the number of services the firm offers to its users worldwide. Whether it comes to shopping or entertainment, Amazon is the go-to option for me. It has never really given me a chance to complain, and I feel that the services are excellent.
I use the Amazon website regularly for shopping, for example. The collection has never failed my taste and requirement, and the deals are incredibly reasonable. That is one of the best things about it~ it seems to have an alternative purchasing option for almost every income group. Certain shopping websites focus too rigidly on some specific demographics, which means that they fail to include options for customers who don’t fall into that very specific bracket. Amazon’s delivery and exchange policies sit very well with me, too. Overall, the Amazon website works for me!
Coming to entertainment, I feel like Prime Video has some pretty brilliant productions. Some of my favourite shows are Amazon Originals, and I’d be lying if I did not admit how much I love that, here too, Amazon takes a very inclusive approach and keeps an abundance of shows that can cater to enthusiasts of every genre~ and at a super pocket-friendly, reasonable subscription price, too.
Audible is actually what got me out of my reader’s block, so not only did Amazon give me multiple entertainment options, it is also very close to my heart. While Audible has quite the collection of audiobooks, the podcasts are also very special to me and I can not explain how important Audible is for me. There are some Originals on Audible too, so it is quite amazing that Amazon pays enough attention to creativity and good, enjoyable content, aside from just minting money. And that is something I’m appreciative of because artistic pursuits and attention to what the masses are consuming are equally as important as turning profits every year.
Speaking of profits, we can arguably say that, given that Amazon is owned by the richest man on earth at the moment, Amazon knows exactly what to do to keep the cash coming. So yes, I must add that I do happen to have a lot of respect for the world’s richest billionaire, Mr. Jeff Bezos, the current CEO extraordinaire of Amazon. The man seems to be hitting the jackpot with pretty much every endeavour right now, and the controversies that have been linked to him are of little to no consequence in terms of his professional performance, in my opinion. If one can keep his net worth as high up as Bezos, I barely think that anything else needs to be taken into consideration while discussing his professional capacity.
But the one Amazon product I have difficulty trusting is Alexa. I’m not against the idea of Artificial Intelligence in its entirety, but letting a little machine in on all my private information~ right from my passwords, down to which song I am vibing the most with right now~ and making it do simple tasks like googling dumb stuff, say, every time I forget how a commonly used word is spelt, seems a little too much of AI dependence. Especially now that Alexa has started listening in on private conversations via Echo Cons, apparently to identify who is in the house, I am finding it increasingly difficult to pin my trust on Amazon Alexa. Judge me if you will, but I value my privacy over a lot more. Well, I guess to each their own!
